In February 1959, nine experienced hikers led by Igor Dyatlov disappeared in the Ural Mountains.
Rescuers found their campsite weeks later, defying logic. The tent was ripped open from
inside, all their supplies untouched. Yet, they had fled
barefoot into a blizzard, kilometers from safety. Eight bodies were found with horrific
injuries: fractured skulls and severe chest trauma, consistent with a high-speed car crash,
yet with no evidence of human struggle. One woman was found missing her
tongue and eyes. Even stranger, some clothing collected contained high levels of radiation.
