Making a law in the EU is a three-step dance between its most powerful institutions. It all starts with
the European Commission. Think of them as the idea factory; they are the only ones who can propose
new laws. Next, that proposal goes to two other teams for approval: the
European Parliament, which represents you and other EU citizens, and the Council
of the EU, where your country's ministers meet. Both have to agree for the law to pass.
Once it's approved, member states have to implement it, and the Commission circles back to
make sure everyone is playing by the new rules.
