In 1932, Australia launched a full military operation against emus.
Farmers were desperate — the birds were destroying crops, breeding out of control,
and moving in massive herds. So the government sent soldiers armed with machine guns
to wipe them out. But emus are fast, unpredictable, and shockingly hard to hit.
The birds scattered, dodged bullets, and outran trucks like it was nothing. After thousands
of rounds fired, the army admitted defeat. The emus won — simply by being too quick
and too many. The “Emu War” became a national punchline, but also a reminder: sometimes nature
