Nobody talks about how vampires are actually the most oppressed minority in modern cities.

I lived next to one in my apartment building for two years before I figured

it out. Marcus worked night shifts, never ate at potlucks,

and everyone thought he was just antisocial. But I saw him in the

alley, feeding on a willing donor who'd signed consent forms. Vampires pay taxes,

follow strict regulations, and basically get treated like criminals for existing. Marcus showed me

his ration card. He’s registered with a secret department and can't travel freely.

He couldn't travel freely and lived in constant fear of exposure. It is heartbreaking.
