The immigration debate isn't broken because we disagree. It's broken because we're asking the
wrong question. In 1907, Ellis Island processed 5,000 people daily
in mere hours. Today, cases sit in legal limbo for years.
The 1965 Hart-Celler Act promised fairness but created backlogs stretching decades.
Some neighborhoods bloom with new businesses while others feel the economic ground shake.
Both sides are right. Workers face wage pressure, yet immigrants drive
innovation and growth. The real solution is rebuilding the entire pipeline. We need a
policy designed for 2025, not 1965.
