The Importance of Curing Concrete

Pouring concrete and walking away is the absolute worst thing you can do for your

project. The real magic actually happens after the truck leaves. It is called curing,

and it is literally the difference between a solid foundation and a cracking nightmare. Concrete needs to

stay wet to get strong. If it dries out, the chemical hardening stops dead.

You need to keep it moist for at least seven days using water ponding, sprinklers,

or wet sheets. That single week locks in over half its final strength. Give it seven days

of water for seventy years of survival.
