Your heart was already beating when you were only two centimeters long. It all starts with
a single cell, the zygote. In the first month, your heart and spinal cord begin to form.
By month two, you're the size of a grape, but your heart is pumping,
and your eyes, nose, and lips are taking shape. At three months,
all your organs are almost fully developed. By month four, you can make sucking
motions and might even suck your thumb. You practice breathing in month five, and by month six,
you can open your eyes. After nine months of incredible growth, you're finally ready.
