The Lever Is Everywhere

They put a lever in front of a rat, told it nothing, just let the

dopamine speak. One press felt good, two presses felt better.

Pretty soon the body quit, but the wanting didn't. Take the lever

away and the rat walks on. Give it pain, real pain

and it runs back, like the answer was waiting there all along.
