The Light Is Still Coming

I've been praying in the half dark. Eyes red, hands shaking on

this old chair. Fighting every single nightmare in my head. I've been walking

through the long dust. Bare feet. Every promise felt so far off.

Every hour tasted like defeat. Feet. But the light is still coming.

Even when I can't see. When the night feels unending. You're still holding

me. Through the cracking and the crying. Through the breaking of my knees.

The light is still coming. You're still carrying me. I remember mama's

soft song. Low voice. Humming while the sky rained. Telling me that
