The Longest Word in English

Did you know the longest English word has over one hundred eighty-nine thousand letters?

That’s not a word. That’s a whole Wikipedia page. It’s actually the full chemical name

of a protein called titin. So… nobody uses it in real life? Not in conversation.

But technically, it is a word. How long would it take to say it out loud?

Over three hours — nonstop. Imagine stuttering halfway through. That’s why most

dictionaries don’t even print it. Good. I barely spell “necessary.”
