The Misguided Parking Lot Wave

So today I accidentally ruined my own reputation in public. I was walking into a store and saw someone across the parking lot waving really enthusiastically at me. Like full arm, big smile, commitment. Naturally, I waved back. They kept waving. I kept waving. Then they looked confused. That’s when I realized… they were waving at the person behind me. Instant panic. I couldn’t just stop waving. That would be weird. So I upgraded the wave into a stretch. Then I turned it into a yawn. Then I pretended to check my watch… even though I don’t wear a watch. The other person finally reached them, and they both stared at me like I was an NPC glitching. I walked into the store, immediately forgot why I was there, bought a single banana, and left. I now avoid that parking lot like it’s cursed. ruined my own reputation in public.
