The Mystery of D. B. Cooper

In 1971, a man boarded a plane in the United States under the name D.

B. Cooper. He looked calm, polite, completely ordinary.

Nothing about him suggested that this flight would become one of the most mysterious crimes

in American history. Shortly after takeoff, he handed a note to a flight attendant. Inside the note,

he claimed he was carrying a bomb. Cooper demanded two hundred thousand dollars in cash

and four parachutes. The authorities had no choice but to comply. When the plane landed

in Seattle, the money was delivered and all passengers were released. The aircraft then

took off again, flying into a dark and stormy night over Washington State.
