The Nature of Light and Color

Light is actually just pure energy shooting through space in straight lines.

It doesn't even need air to travel, which is how radiation from the sun survives the vacuum.

The crazy part is that white light is a lie; it’s actually every color combined. Red waves are long

and low energy, while violet is short and intense. Objects either reflect this stuff or make

their own. Lava glowing is incandescence, creating light from heat,

while glow-in-the-dark toys use phosphorescence to store UV rays and shine later. Everything you see

is literally just energy bouncing off objects into your eyes.
