It is called Pascal’s Law and it is basically a cheat code for physics. When you push on
a trapped fluid, that pressure shoots out equally in all directions. That is why hydraulic
presses can crush anything and why tapping your brake pedal stops a two-ton vehicle.
It is different from air, which is squishy and used for fast things like nail
guns. Whether it is thick honey or flowing water, fluids are the reason
we can float massive steel ships and power heavy machinery without breaking a sweat.
