The Realities of Becoming a Manager

Becoming a manager means you actually lose rights. You can't lose your temper,

you can't be "one of the gang," and you definitely can't play favorites. You give up the

right to vent your frustrations or bring personal problems to work. It’s not just about

telling people what to do. It’s about planning the future, organizing your

team and resources, and making sure everyone is set up to win. You need to be a

problem-solver, a resource allocator, and a negotiator, all at once. It requires big-picture

thinking, serious people skills, and knowing the job inside and out.
