could not forget. Mary Tudor ruled with one goal: restore Catholic England. To her,
Protestantism was rebellion against God and order itself. Power and faith fused and mercy
narrowed. Her government revived heresy laws. Trials followed belief. Refusal meant death.
Around three hundred people were burned alive. The fires were meant to cleanse
the nation. Instead, they terrorized it. Children saw parents die.
Silence became survival. The nickname came after: Bloody Mary. The flames did
not restore faith, they taught a nation to fear religious power forever.
