The Shadow Behind Kovu

“You probably won’t believe this… but if your cat ever stares at a wall for too long… don’t

look away.” That’s how it started. There was a boy named Leke who lived alone with his quiet

grey cat, Kovu. Kovu never meowed, never purred, never played—just

sat in corners staring at empty spaces as if something was standing there. One night,

Leke woke up to the sound of scratching… but it wasn’t coming from the door. It was coming from

the walls. Slow… deliberate… like something trying to come in. He turned on the

lights. Kovu was sitting upright on his chest, pupils wide, ears pinned back,

staring at the far corner of the room. Leke followed his gaze—nothing was there.
