The Stranger at the Playground

Do you have a childhood memory that still haunts you today? When I was around 9 or 10 years old,

my dad used to take me to the playground every sunday evening. He would let me play on my own or

with other kids while he talked with his friends. One Sunday evening the ground was really

crowded. After playing for a while, I turned around and realized I couldn’t

find my dad anywhere. I started walking around looking for him, and after a bit

I saw someone who looked exactly like him from the back... same height and similar shirt.

I was fully convinced it was him, so I walked behind him and even held his hand.

A few seconds later the man turned around… and he was a complete stranger. That shock and embarrassment
