The Tug of Two Worlds

"The flesh lusteth against the spirit and the spirit against the flesh", Galatians

5:17. There is a war inside of me, a pull of

two directions, two voices, two destinies. One calls me downward

into comfort without covenant, desire without devotion. A life shaped only by the

moment. The other calls me upward to purpose that costs something,

to love that purifies, to joy that stays. The flesh says,

"Take what feels good now." The Spirit whispers, "Wait for what is holy."

My thoughts wrestle between the dirt I came from and the breath I was given,
