The Voicemail From My Future

“I should have listened to the voicemail… because now, it’s too late.” Last night,

I received a voicemail from an unknown number. It was my own voice… whispering:

“Don’t go home. Please.” I laughed. Thought it was a prank.

But when I checked the timestamp… it was sent two hours in the future. I rushed home anyway.

The door was unlocked. The lights were on. And my phone buzzed again.

A text message said: “You’re standing exactly where I died.” Suddenly,

I heard footsteps upstairs. Slow. Heavy. I wanted to run…

but then I saw myself in the hallway mirror. Not a reflection. Me. Staring back.
