but the medical model where a doctor just cures you doesn't work here. The actual goal
is to make you the expert on your own life so you stop needing help. But here’s the catch:
your brain will fight this. It’s called resistance. We would rather stay in a comfortable
hell than face the scary unknown of changing. Whether it’s a breakup or a mental breakdown,
a good therapist isn't a savior. They are just a mirror helping you see that you already
have the tools to save yourself.
