Truth as Revenge

My girlfriend rejected my marriage proposal in front of everyone at her birthday party.

She laughed and said I wasn't ambitious enough. So I smiled, stood up,

and announced I'd been funding her entire lifestyle for three years. Rent,

car payments, credit cards, everything. Then I pulled out my phone and showed

receipts to everyone there. Her friends went silent. I canceled every

subscription that night. Two weeks later, she texted begging to talk.

I replied with a screenshot of my new savings account balance. Sometimes the best

revenge is just telling the truth.
