Twin Mix-Up at the Airport

A stranger just grabbed my coffee order at the airport Starbucks and sprinted toward gate forty-two.

I chased after him through security crowds, dodging rolling suitcases and confused

travelers. When I finally caught up, breathless and annoyed, he turned around

looking absolutely panicked. Turns out he wasn't stealing my drink. His identical twin

brother texted him the wrong gate number, and his flight was boarding in three minutes on the opposite

side of the terminal. We both had the same name. Michael. Same order.

Venti iced caramel macchiato. The barista had called it once, and we both reached

for it. He apologized profusely while I stood there processing this bizarre coincidence.
