Universal Credit payments over Christmas and New Year — here’s what changes! If your Universal

Credit payment date falls on certain bank holidays between 25th Dec 2025 and 1st Jan 2026,

the Department for Work and Pensions will pay early so you still get your money on time.

That means: Payments due on 25th Dec (Christmas Day), 26 Dec (Boxing Day),

27th and 28th will be paid on Wednesday 24th Dec (Christmas Eve). Payments due on

1 Jan (New Year’s Day) are paid on Wednesday 31 Dec (New Year’s Eve). If your normal date

doesn’t fall on those holidays, your payment stays the same. Follow for more
