Don't Look Outside Tonight

I found the note taped to my bedroom door when I got home from work.

Plain white paper. It only said four words: Don't look outside tonight.

I laughed. I live alone and assumed it was just a prank.

At 1:40 AM, I heard movement outside. Like someone shifting their weight.

2:17 AM. My phone buzzed. Motion detected in the backyard. I hesitated.

My hands were shaking. The camera feed loaded slowly. Someone was standing

in my yard. Too tall to be human. They were facing the camera.

Staring directly into it. A text arrived: I warned you. My chest tightened.
