Andy Warhol proved that a simple soup can could be high art. In 1962,
he unveiled his famous Campbell's Soup Cans—32 canvases, each showing a different flavor,
looking like they were pulled straight from a supermarket shelf. This wasn't just
about soup. It was a statement on 1960s America, a world obsessed with advertising
and mass production. Warhol used a repetitive, machine-like style to reflect how consumer goods were everywhere.
He challenged the art world by asking: if we see these images every day, why can't they be
art? He turned an ordinary object into an icon.
