Watching Myself Sleep

I live alone. That’s why my phone notification confused me. “Front door unlocked.”

I didn’t unlock it. I grabbed my phone and checked the security app.

The camera showed my hallway. Empty. Then another notification popped up.

“Motion detected.” The camera feed refreshed. I was standing in the hallway…

staring directly into the camera. My phone buzzed again. “Motion detected:

Bedroom.” I was already in bed. And something behind me whispered:

“You shouldn’t watch yourself sleep.”
