Whispers Behind Sealed Doors

Rizwana cleaned an old government building at night. Floor 7 was sealed for decades,

strictly off limits. Until the elevator refused to open anywhere else. Doors slid open

to darkness. A voice whispered her name, sounding exactly like her dead mother.

She stepped out. The elevator slammed shut. Inside the steel door at the end

was a room with no corners. The walls weren't painted white. They were covered

in human skin, stretched and stitched, pulsing like it was still alive. Faces pressed through

from behind, whispering stay, stay, join us. A flayed creature

emerged, smiling with no eyes. We need a caretaker, it said.
