When you pour a cold drink, water droplets appear on the glass, as if it's
sweating. But where does that water actually come from? The water isn’t
leaking through the glass. It comes from the air around the glass.
Air always contains water vapor, even when it doesn’t feel humid. When the cold
glass touches the air, it chills its surface. Cooler air can’t
hold as much water vapor. Extra vapor condenses into liquid droplets on the glass.
This is the same process that forms dew on grass in the morning.
The colder the drink and more humid the air, the more 'sweat' you’ll see on
