“You Found Me”

My name is Brandon, and I should have stayed in the car. The crash came without warning.

One moment I was driving through a tunnel of trees, the next my car was spinning,

metal screaming before everything went still. The forest around me was silent—no

insects, no wind—just the ticking of the engine cooling down. I tried my phone.

No service. I called out, but my voice was swallowed by the trees.

Minutes passed. No help. That’s when I noticed the smell—damp earth, rot,

something old. Staying in the car suddenly felt wrong, like it wasn’t safe anymore.

So I grabbed my flashlight and stepped into the forest. The darkness pressed close.
