How to Add New Media to an Existing Revid Project (2026 Editor)

To add new media to an existing Revid project, open it from Videos and click Media in the editor's left rail. From there you can upload a file, pick stock, stickers or effects, or click Generate to create AI media. To swap one scene's visual, select its clip on the timeline and click Replace.

The most common mistake is regenerating the whole video because one scene looks wrong. A new AI image costs 1 to 16 credits depending on quality, while rebuilding a video pays again for every scene, the voice and the music. Fix the scene, keep everything else.

#What changed since the old version of this guide

If you learned Revid on the legacy editor, three things moved:

• The Frames panel is now the Script panel.
• The "Add new media" button and the Generate Images window are gone from the default editor. New media now lives in the Media panel, and AI generation opens from its Generate button.
• Swapping a scene's visual is done by selecting the clip and clicking Replace, or by regenerating it in place.

New accounts open videos in the "v2 editor (new)". The old interface still exists as "v1 editor (legacy)", but every step below uses the current one.

#Step 1: Open the project in the editor

1. In the sidebar, under Create, click Videos.
2. Click the project card, or open the card menu and choose Open in editor.
3. The editor opens with the rail on the left: Script, Text, Media, Transitions, Audio, Captions and Settings. The preview sits in the middle and the timeline runs along the bottom.

The Script panel lists every caption segment with its start time. It is the fastest way to find the moment where new media should go. Click a segment, note its time, then find that spot on the timeline.

#Step 2: Open the Media panel

Click Media in the left rail. The panel has four sections:

At the top of the panel you can search your media, upload a file, or click Generate to create something new with AI.

#Step 3: Add the new media

Pick the source that fits the scene.

#Upload your own image or clip

Drag a file onto the Media panel (it shows "Drop to upload") or use the upload button. Use this for product shots, screen recordings, logos or footage you filmed. It is the right choice whenever the viewer needs to see the real thing.

#Use stock, stickers or effects

Open Stock for real-world videos and photos, Stickers for stickers and emojis, or Effects for FX overlays and audio visualizers. Stock fits generic scenes (a city at night, hands typing). Stickers and effects add emphasis on top of a scene without replacing it.

#Generate new AI media

Click Generate in the Media panel to open the AI generation page. Describe the image or clip you need in a sentence or two, with the subject, the setting and the style of the rest of the video. A prompt like "a runner on a forest trail at sunrise, same painted style as the other scenes" keeps the new scene consistent with its neighbors.

For AI video, Revid lets you choose the model per scene: Seedance 2.5, MiniMax Hailuo H3, Wan 3.0 or Google Veo 3, all on the same credits. If a character has to look the same in every scene, set it up first with the AI character generator.

#Step 4: Put the media in the right scene

1. On the timeline, click the image or video clip you want to change.
2. In the clip panel, click Replace. The Media panel opens on the Library.
3. Pick the new file. It takes the place of the old clip.

Then adjust the timing:

• Trim: drag the clip's start or end edge on the timeline. A selected video clip also has a Trim section with start and end times and a Reset button.
• Split: place the playhead and press S (or click Split) to cut a clip in two, then replace only one half.
• Remove: Delete removes the selection; Shift+Delete ripple-deletes it and closes the gap.

If the new media changes what the narrator should say, edit the line in the Script panel and regenerate the voiceover from the Audio panel. The editor reminds you with "Re-generate voice if timing changed." To add a pause so a new shot has room to breathe, see adding a pause in the voice.

#Regenerate a scene's AI media instead of replacing it

When the scene was AI-generated and only needs a better version, regenerate it in place:

Use "Edit existing image" or "Edit with AI" for small fixes, such as a wrong color or an extra object. Use a full regeneration when the composition itself is wrong. #How many credits new media costs

Your balance shows as "N credits" at the bottom of the sidebar. AI generation uses these rates:

AI video is billed pro rata per second. Rule of thumb: if the scene lasts under 2 seconds or the camera barely moves, an AI image is enough and costs a fraction of a clip. Save premium video models for the hook and the money shot. Plans and credit packs are on the Revid pricing page.

#Where is the "Add new media" button in Revid?

It no longer exists in the default editor. Click Media in the left rail to upload, browse stock, stickers and effects, or click Generate. To change one scene, select its clip and click Replace.

#Can I upload my own photos and videos to an existing Revid project?

Yes. Drag the file onto the Media panel or use the upload button, then select the scene's clip on the timeline and click Replace to use it.

#Can I use a different AI model for just one scene?

Yes. Revid lets you choose the model per scene, among Seedance 2.5, MiniMax Hailuo H3, Wan 3.0 and Google Veo 3, on the same credit balance.

#Can I undo a regenerated clip?
