Born beneath the blood red moon, they carved my fate in stone.

Told me "girl keep your mouth shut, learn to smile and play

along". They fed me shame for breakfast. Silence from my wine.

Taught me how to disappear before I ever learned to shine. Every dream I

buried in the garden out back. Every tear I swallowed till my heart reached
