Kofi was the kind of engineering student everyone thought would make it—focused, brilliant, always fixing radios in his hostel room like he was born with a screwdriver in his hand. Until that Wednesday. He was in the middle of a circuits exam when his phone kept vibrating. Annoyed, he stepped outside— and the world stopped. A shaky voice on the other end whispered the words that tore the floor from under him: “There’s been an accident… your parents… didn’t make it.” The pen slid out of his hand. The corridor spun. Everything went silent—like someone pulled the plug on his life. Days passed in a blur. Kofi stopped attending lectures. His scholarship hung by a thread. His room filled with unopened textbooks and untouched lab equipment. One night—broken, exhausted, ready to drop out—he started packing his bags.
