Flag Football Diving Rules Explained

Diving to save your flag in flag football is actually illegal. You can't just leap forward to avoid

getting your flag pulled. That’s a penalty. Same goes for flag guarding – you can’t

use your hands or the ball to block a defender from grabbing your flag. The whole point

is to make the flags the only target. You can spin, though! Spinning is a great

way to juke a defender. But you can't jump or dive while doing it. It’s all designed

to keep it a game of speed and agility, not just who can create the most contact.
