Georgia was basically the teacher's pet of the British Empire before the Revolution started.
We were the baby of the family and the only colony to actually sell those hated stamps
because we still needed the King's money and protection. But eventually, we switched sides.
It was messy, with neighbors fighting neighbors as Loyalists and Patriots. We took a huge loss
at the Siege of Savannah, but after the war, things got interesting. The first government
was too weak, so Georgia’s Abraham Baldwin forced a tie vote that saved the Constitutional
Convention. We literally helped invent the American government just to secure our borders.
