How to Jump-Start a Car Safely

Is your car battery dead? Don't panic. Here is how you jump start

it safely. All you need are heavy duty jumper cables and a friend with

a working vehicle. First, make sure both cars are turned off and the

parking brakes are engaged. Pop both hoods. Connect red to the dead positive,

red to the good positive, black to the good negative, and the last

black clamp to a metal ground. Start the working car's engine and let it run

for about two minutes to charge the dead battery. Now, try to start

the dead car. It should fire right up once it has enough juice.
