I Still Remember Everything

The sun was high, shining through the trees. There you were,

walking toward me like these mountains. I felt I'd known you all my life.

And I still think of you sometimes. We were young, trying to find

our place in this world, to make our mark, have our voices

be heard. We blazed a path, then left it all behind.

I still think about those times. When we walked by the houses of the rich

and famous, dreaming of the day when it wouldn't shame us to not have

a penny to our names. We breathed in the air of the mighty Rockies,
