I Won by Staying In

I learned to breathe in empty rooms where silence taught me how to

stand. I learned to carry what was mine without a steady

helping hand. I watched the clock outpace my hope, still showed up

when I felt thin. I didn't win by giving up. I won by

staying in. I stayed when walking out was easier. I stayed

when nothing felt secure. I stayed. I didn't trade my soul for

speed. I stayed and learned what I could be.

I loved without a grip or claim. I kept respect ahead of want.
