Last semester, deadlines caused immense stress, and my chest felt like someone
was sitting on it every single morning I started breathing exercises and confidently
set boundaries, saying no to projects. It actually helped. At 2 AM,
I texted my roommate, 'I can't breathe.' She stayed with me until it
passed. Next day, I called campus counseling. The counselor reframed
anxiety as my brain trying to protect me. Now I study in twenty-minute chunks
with breaks. Checking in with friends, reaching out isn't weakness,
it's the bravest thing I ever did.
