Nature is actually a giant machine where nothing ever really leaves. Ecology isn't just
looking at trees, it's realizing that every single living thing is locked in a relationship
with its environment. Think about it. The sun blasts energy down, plants catch it,
and then it flows up to us. That energy moves one way. But the physical
stuff, the carbon and nitrogen? That cycles forever. Decomposers are the unsung heroes
turning dead stuff back into soil so life can restart. We are basically just borrowing our
bodies from the earth, so we better stop breaking the rental agreement.
