Predicting the Future with Linear Regression

You can actually predict the future using a simple straight line. It is called linear

regression and it is the cheat code for understanding how the world works. You take messy real-life

data, like how many hours you study versus your final grade, and find the line

of best fit that cuts through the noise. This gives you a formula to predict

exactly how much one thing changes another. But you have to check your R-squared

value to see if your model is actually solid or just a lucky guess. Just remember,

correlation does not equal causation, so do not let a random coincidence trick you into making

a bad bet.
