Tobacco farming is single-handedly wiping out twelve percent of the forests in Southern Africa.
Farmers in Malawi have been cutting down massive amounts of trees just to cure the leaves
in dangerous barns that often burn down and destroy their income. But a new invention
called the Rocket Barn is changing the game. It replaces primitive fires with a high-tech,
insulated combustion chamber that cuts wood use by over fifty percent. It stops the barns
from catching fire and saves the farmers huge money. This tech is such a big deal that
people are biking a hundred kilometers just to see it in person.
