Shortcuts Can Be Dangerous (duplicated)

Liam thought it was just another shortcut home until a hand slammed him against the brick

wall. The grip tightened around his throat and everything started spinning.

He couldn't breathe, couldn't scream, just felt his legs going weak beneath him.

His vision flickered like a broken light bulb, darkness creeping in from the edges.

But something inside him refused to give up. He clawed at the hand,

gasping for any bit of air he could get. Time stretched impossibly long in those seconds.

Then his attacker's phone rang, the grip loosened for just a moment, and Liam twisted

free. He ran without looking back, lungs burning, heart pounding.
