The US government was designed to fight with itself. Seriously. It's a system called
federalism, and the Framers created it to keep the central government from getting too
powerful and threatening your liberty. They split power between the national government and the
states. Some powers are exclusive to the Feds, while others,
called concurrent powers, are shared. Think of it like a constant tug-of-war.
And when they can't agree? The Supreme Court steps in as the ultimate referee.
The Feds even give states money, called block grants, for things like healthcare.
It’s a constant power struggle, all by design.
