The Feudal System: A Historical Pyramid Scheme

The Middle Ages was basically the original pyramid scheme. After the Roman

Empire collapsed, the world reset and land became the only currency that actually mattered.

The Church stepped in to run the show, gatekeeping education so only the chosen few could actually

learn anything. Society was split into three strict groups: the nobles, the priests,

and the regular people who did all the hard labor. It was called the feudal system.

A Lord would lend you a piece of land, and in return, you owed him taxes and military service.

Basically, the rich owned the dirt, and everyone else just paid rent with

their lives.
