ruled from 54 to 68 CE. At first, he was loved — young, charming,
artistic. But power consumed him. He executed his own mother.
He burned Christians alive. And when Rome burned in 64 CE, many believed he
started the fire himself — then blamed others to save his name. When rebellion broke
out, Nero fled the city. Before soldiers could arrest him, he took his own
