The Mystery of DB Cooper

DB Cooper is the alias of an unidentified man who, on November 24, 1971,

hijacked Northwest Orient Airlines Flight 305 flying from Portland to Seattle.

He extorted $200,000 in ransom and four parachutes from the airline, then released the

passengers after landing in Seattle. With the pilots and crew still on board,

he ordered the plane to take off again toward Mexico City. Somewhere over southwestern Washington,

Cooper opened the rear door of the plane and parachuted into the night, disappearing without

a trace. Despite an extensive manhunt and investigation by the FBI, including interviewing

hundreds of suspects and significant search efforts in the region where he likely landed,
