person in the room. In a famous experiment, participants listened to recordings of people answering

a difficult quiz. One person was a total genius but "accidentally" spilled coffee on themselves.

Guess who was rated more likable? The one who spilled the coffee! It’s called the

Pratfall Effect. When someone is highly competent, they can seem intimidating or even cold.

Making a small mistake "humanizes" them. It breaks down social barriers and makes you feel like you

can actually relate to them. This ONLY works if people already think you're capable.
