Nature is basically a ruthless economy where you can never truly win. Every single organism
is trapped in a massive trade-off because energy is limited. You can either grow
huge and live forever like an elephant, or reproduce fast and die young like a weed,
but you physically cannot do both. It’s called the principle of allocation. Even the atoms in
your body are just borrowed rent-free from the carbon cycle. Eventually,
a disturbance like a fire or a predator resets the board, and the whole cycle of succession starts
over. You are just a temporary vessel for recycled stardust trying to pass on data
before your lease expires.
