Misunderstood Priorities on a First Date (duplicated)

A few weeks ago, I was scheduled for a first date with a guy I’d been talking to for over

a month. We had multiple long phone calls, texted regularly, and shared a lot

in common. On the day of our date, a coworker had a sudden miscarriage

at work. She was alone, and I went with her to the hospital so she wouldn’t

be by herself. As soon as I knew I might be late or miss the date, I texted him at

1:07 pm with a brief explanation and said I’d keep him updated. When her sister

arrived around 4:30 pm, I texted him again around 4:50 pm, letting him know

I could still meet that evening. He didn’t respond until the next day with “fine.
